Geelong VS West Coast

Since the introduction of the final eight in 1994, the minor premier has not once gone out of the finals in straight sets. This means Geelong will face quite a challenge during their home final Friday evening (13th September). The Cats can keep dreaming about playing a home final at GMHBA Stadium; however, if Geelong truly wants to win, they should do their best and use all the elbow grease they can find. It's a do or die game for the Cats and they need to be prepared for a confrontation they've never experienced before with West Coast at the MCG.

The Eagles won five of their last six games at the ground and the Optus Stadium is about the same size as the G, so they do come with a clear advantage. West Coast are also eager to plat the Cats at the G instead of their current home ground. Geelong lost by 10 points against the Pies the previous week, and the idea of dropping Stanley from the team prior to the game is still a hit or win dilemma yet to be resolved. Geelong are forced to have a great start if they are truly hoping to get into the prelim and play against the Tigers. They could use a better first quarter compared to the one they had when they played against Collingwood. We expect to see a more aggressive gameplay this Friday night, as the West Coast showed an excellent game against the Bombers.
