iGaming Events 2021

Since Australia is one of the countries with the biggest appetites for gambling globally, it doesn’t come as a surprise that there are many Australian gaming events taking place on its territory. These events and awards represent the ideal opportunity for stakeholders to showcase their products and innovations while establishing partnerships and networking.

The Australian authorities involved in online gambling regulation (the Australian Communications and Media Authority) can use these gatherings as opportunities to reach out and make their intentions heard.

When talking about physical events, even the real money casino and sports betting enthusiast can make the most of such a gathering. It offers them the occasion to physically interact with representatives of the companies they use online and get up to date with gambling regulations in Australia.

Without further ado, we invite you to check out the most important iGaming events in Australia for 2021. No matter if you’re planning to book an exhibitor booth or you’re just curious about how online gambling and these events work together, you’ll find lots of valuable information.

Australasian Gaming Expo – AGE

Kicking off the list with one of the most important iGaming events for the Australian market – the AGE. Supported by the Australasian Gaming Council, the AGE brings together over 6,000 attendees linked with online and offline gaming. The first AGE took place in 1990, the same period when online gambling was starting to increase in popularity across Europe. Having over 30 years of experience in the industry is another strong reason why this event is considered essential to the Australian gambling industry.

iGaming in Sydney

For 2021, the organizers have planned the AGE to take place at the ICC Sydney between 10 and 12 August. Over 240 exhibitors with an essential role in the Australian iGaming scene will be present, including the likes of:

  • Aristocrat

  • Ainsworth

  • IGT

  • Konami

  • Scientific Games

  • Aruze

  • Banktech

The participants' list has new entries added daily since there’s quite some time left until the Australasian Gaming Expo will kick off in August 2021. So, even as a player, if you want to get up to date with the newest online pokies, technologies used by your favourite casinos, or anything else related to the iGaming sector, make sure you don’t miss this one.

EGR Australia Summit

Like the Australasian Gaming Expo, the EGR Australia Summit is all about showcasing the best in the country’s gaming industry. However, there are some subtle differences involved. The EGR event is all about the online gambling sector without addressing the offline gaming component. It offers the opportunity for stakeholders to debate and discuss the hot topics impacting the Australian gaming market.

Before moving online for the 2021 edition, the EGR Australia Summit was designed as a closed-door event to deliver the perfect setting for qualitative operational and strategic insights between industry leaders.

The previous editions included big names in the iGaming industry like:

  • Ladbrokes

  • GVC

  • Unibet

  • Bet365

  • Betfair

  • Crown Resorts

  • PointsBet

  • Bet Easy

  • PlayUp

Since all the high-profile iGaming companies will be attending the EGR Australia Summit, it’s a great opportunity for the local authorities to pitch in as well and continue talks that would lead to full regulation of the Australian online gambling landscape.

 International Gambling Conference (IGC) 2021

For the next event, we’re taking a step towards Australia’s neighbour, New Zealand. The International Gambling Conference will occur between the 30th of June and the 1st of July 2021 at the AUT in Auckland. Just like its previous editions, the IGC in New Zealand will tackle topics like new technology used in online and offline gambling, responsible gaming, regulations, and many more.

iGaming Events 2021Even though it doesn’t take place in Australia, many companies present here operate in both countries, and there’s still a lot of interest from Aussie representatives. This event has less to do with players than the previous ones presented on the page. Therefore, if you were planning to attend to get a shot at new games or get a glimpse of what casinos could prepare for the future, this is not your shot. However, players and punters that are looking for information about a great no deposit bonus or the newest real money pokies can get plenty of information on our website.

SiGMA

After checking out some of the most important iGaming events taking place in or involving Australia, it’s time to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. When talking about global events in the gaming industry, nobody can deny that SiGMA is the biggest there is. With headquarters in Malta – the world’s iGaming capital – SiGMA is the cornerstone when it comes to iGaming gatherings.

The 2021 edition has been moved from February to April, and SiGMA Europe will take place between the 13th and 15th of April 2021. As usual, the Malta Fairs Conventions Center will host the event that got some impressive digits for its 2019 edition. Over 15,000 delegates from 80 countries and at least twice more visitors were present in Malta for the last edition before the global pandemic struck.

The 2021 SiGMA edition will bring together top iGaming companies including operators, suppliers, affiliates, fintech start-ups, and pretty much everyone involved in delivering top gambling entertainment. The main topics for this edition will be:

  • Emerging Trends – discussing innovations and new directions for online gambling in 2021, especially in the context of the global pandemic
  • Emerging Hubs – a thorough analysis of other iGaming hubs in Asia, Africa, or the Americas
  • Emerging Tech – SiGMA joins hands with AIBC to deliver an exhaustive approach on everything tech-related in iGaming. It's all about AI, big data, Blockchain, Internet of Things, and Quantum computing.

However, the current global situation did not discourage the people behind SiGMA who already planned a global approach for 2021. SiGMA Asia will take place in Manila in May, followed by SiGMA Americas in September 2021. Furthermore, a SiGMA Africa is in the works for March 2023, with the headquarters in Cape Town. However, we’ll have to wait some more to get more details on this event.
